The PainWISE Community Pain Support initiative, aims to plant and grow much needed multidisciplinary, compassion based pain support programs in regional and rural communities in Australia.
Evidence based Self-management pain programs
The Conquer Your Pain program is an evidence based holistic, sensory-based pain program that helps you to identify the contributing factors to your pain, learn tools and skills to problem solve, cope and manage your pain better and make sense of the pain experience! The program is in accordance with the recommendations of the International Association of the Study of Pain. Come on board and join a community of compassionate clinicians and peers who are on this journey together with you!!
For 9 years till today, we have been running these localised programs and for 3 years the program was rigorously evaluated. It is so exciting that we can now bring this program online for greater accessibility. Read the evidence here.
In Person Classes
Living with chronic pain can be very isolating! Reducing social isolation and learning helpful tools can really improve one’s quality of life and reduce the pain experience!
Come and experience our Supportive, Gentle, Settling sensory movement sessions each week, followed with a good yarn over a cuppa!
The movement sessions are suitable for ALL adult age groups (18 years and above) and pain conditions as it is focused on the power of breathing, gentle movements that help to settle pain and do all this within a safe and positive environment to reduce pain sensitivities – everything our bodies love to do no matter the pain condition! These sessions are not a replacement of your prescribed movements that you may already have from your physiotherapist, GP or exercise physiologist. They will simply enhance what you are already doing with them.
Don’t sit at home alone, come and learn the tools and you will be able to use it daily!
Our groups will be facilitated by a trained movement instructor.

What to expect at each session:
When you arrive, you will be greeted by a friendly PainWISE team member. In the first 45-60 minutes, our movement instructor will bring you through a sensory movement program and nurture, calm and rejuvenate your nervous system. You will experience different movement techniques over the different weeks. At any stage of the program you can request a heat wrap should you require. We will finish off with a nourishing herbal tea of the day.
Thereafter, please stay on for a cup of tea or coffee that will be supplied. There will not be food supplied, please supply your own snacks. When we have a cuppa together this is where we can get to know each other, get to share tips and tricks with each other and gift each other with positive words!
On occasions our clinical pain facilitator will come and host a discussion on a topic from our Conquer Your Pain program.
10am to 11.00am every Wednesday for the movement session and 11.00am to 12noon for a cuppa and social support

What to bring: Chairs will supplied. Please bring your own drinking water, towel and pillow for your own comfort.
What to wear: Wear loose or comfortable clothing appropriate for movement
All movement programs are facilitated by our trained PainWISE instructors who are accredited within their own movement disciplines.

At each session we observe the COVID rules as per the current state laws. A check in process will be required as per the current QLD Health rules. Please bring your mobile phones or we can sign in manually. Should sessions need to be cancelled we will advise this on our Facebook page.
